Faced with the accelerated ageing of the French population, housing adaptation is becoming a major social issue. In response, Crédit Agricole Personal Finance & Mobility has signed, alongside France Silver Eco, a national charter of good practices aimed at structuring and accelerating the adaptation of housing to ageing. A collective initiative that places funding, simple pathways and ethics at the heart of “ageing well at home”.
On December 18, 2025, on the occasion of the National Silver Economy Council, France Silver Eco (FSE), leader of the sector, and Personal Finance & Mobility formalised their joint commitment to ageing well at home through the signing of a national charter of good practices.
This charter brings together all the key players in housing adaptation:
The objective is clear: to offer seniors a coordinated, readable and accessible offer to allow them to age at home, in conditions of safety, comfort and autonomy.
Today, nearly 6 million French people are over 75 years old, or about 10% of the population. According to INSEE, they will be nearly 14 million in 2070, representing nearly 20% of the population. At the same time, 90% of seniors express the wish to age at home.
The national charter of good practices responds to this societal aspiration by structuring a collective approach to facilitate the adaptation of housing to ageing. It aims to guarantee the quality and conformity of the work carried out, to ensure the reliability of the equipment installed and to propose solutions adapted to the real needs of the elderly. It also simplifies the pathways for beneficiaries and removes the economic obstacles that often delay the start of work.
In this context, Sofinco plays a central role in providing financing solutions adapted to the needs of seniors and construction professionals.
The brand is launching a loan specifically dedicated to the adaptation of housing to ageing. This solution makes it possible to finance or co-finance the work with simple and accessible modalities, in addition to national or local public aid.
Sofinco also acts as the financial agent of the National Housing Agency (Anah). As such, it pays directly to professionals public aid such as MaPrimeAdapt’ or MaPrimeRénov’, as soon as the eligible works are completed. This mechanism secures the cash flow of construction companies and streamlines the implementation of projects.
These levers are fully in line with Personal Finance & Mobility’s strategic plan, which aims to finance €1 billion of work in France by 2028, to support societal and environmental transitions.
