Two years after its launch in October 2023, the 100% electric car-sharing service E+Share from Drivalia, a mobility and rental subsidiary of Crédit Agricole Auto Bank, confirms its success in the Lyon metropolis. Designed as a sustainable alternative to the individual car, the service is now established with more than 15,000 rentals.

A sustainable mobility solution that has been extended to the entire Lyon metropolis

At its launch, E+Share Drivalia first focused on Lyon before expanding its territorial network. In March 2024, a decisive step was taken with the extension of the service to Lyon-Saint Exupéry airport.

From now on, six municipalities are served: Lyon, Villeurbanne, Bron, Vaulx-en-Velin, Vénissieux and the airport. This deployment facilitates both daily commuting and intermodal connections, thus strengthening the coherence of the Lyon metropolis’ transport network.

Continued growth of car sharing in Lyon

In two years, E+Share Drivalia has recorded steady growth with more than 15,000 rentals since its launch. The service recorded 7,600 journeys in 2024 and nearly 7,000 between January and October 2025.

The Lyon fleet now consists of 120 electric Fiat 500, used by 1100 drivers active on the roads of the Lyon metropolis. On average, the service registers 600 rentals per month. These figures show the rise of electric car sharing in Lyon and the growing interest in convenient and accessible modes of travel.
Routes are particularly concentrated around strategic areas such as the airport, train stations and some key areas of Lyon with high demand during peak hours, evenings and weekends.

Users and the impact of E+Share Drivalia

The service mainly attracts young, urban and connected customers. Nearly 7 out of 10 users are under 40 years old, with a strong representation of 21-30 year olds, particularly attracted by the flexibility of the service. 58% are mostly active employees or managers, while students make up just over 10% of users.
This young and connected community makes E+Share a symbol of flexible, responsible and digital mobility.

Carsharing is no longer just a service: it is a change in lifestyle. The data confirm this:
-15% of users have abandoned their personal vehicle
-56% don’t own any cars
-64% cite ecology as the main reason for use

In addition, 6 out of 10 users use E+Share occasionally, 3 out of 10 users regularly and 13% have adopted it as a real alternative to the individual car.
These figures illustrate a shift towards more sustainable mobility in the heart of the Lyon metropolis.

Drivalia: a committed player for responsible mobility

In addition to its territorial development, Drivalia is actively involved in the promotion of sustainable mobility and innovative transport solutions. The service is a partner of emblematic events such as the Nuits Sonores, the Lyon Street Food Festival or the Biennale d’Art Contemporain.

A car-sharing vehicle can replace up to 9 cars, a major asset for the Lyon partners’ CSR policies.
