Crédit Agricole’s Agilauto Partage rural car-sharing solution expands: launch in the Community of Municipalities of Romorantinais and Monestois
As part of their commitment to the energy transition and mobility accessible to all, Crédit Agricole Personal Finance & Mobility and Crédit Agricole Val de France announce, in partnership with the Communauté de Communes du Romorantinais et du Monestois (CCRM), the deployment of Agilauto Partage, a new rural car-sharing service, 100% electric.
A concrete response to mobility needs in rural areas
After a first successful experiment in Fayence in 2023, this new project marks a strategic step to improve everyday mobility in areas underserved by public transport. The CCRM, a rural territory of 35,000 inhabitants, anticipates the constraints associated with the ever-increasing number of low-emission zones (ZFE-m), starting with the one in Tours, which entered into force on 1 January 2025, located 100 km away.
The Community of Municipalities, in the continuity of its energy transition and social innovation policy, has fully mobilized to enable the launch of this service, in close liaison with the municipalities concerned.
EDF, as part of its partnership with Crédit Agricole Personal Finance & Mobility, is once again supporting this project, which is fully in line with its strategy to help achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. In particular by supporting the decarbonization of transport in France, one of its priority axes.
A territorial approach
The CCRM has been actively involved: steering the development of reserved places, local coordination, awareness of the inhabitants.
6 new dual-point charging stations will be added to the 4 existing ones. These terminals will be provided, installed and connected by Agilauto Partage. These charging stations will be accessible to all electric vehicle users.
To establish the territorial anchoring, a local job will also be created by Agilauto Partage. One person will be recruited to manage the fleet of electric vehicles and will be the preferred contact for users of the service. It can offer a comprehensive service management and support system to users, who often use an electric vehicle for the first time or who need support to manage their online booking. In addition, the maintenance and repair of vehicles will be carried out with nearby garages.
An electric mobility service accessible to as many people as possible
The provision of the Agilauto Partage rural car-sharing service by Crédit Agricole Personal Finance & Mobility and the Caisse régionale de Val de France aims to enable the inhabitants of the Community of Communes to benefit from simple and economical access to a fleet of self-service electric vehicles[1]. This system offers greater autonomy for residents of the Community of Communes, whether they are active or unemployed, seniors, students, disabled, etc., for various uses (daily commute, business, personal or leisure activities). It promotes intermodality at stations throughout the territory and offers a solution to those who do not have a vehicle or those who need to transport large volumes of equipment. It also provides access to public services outside the Community of Communes (France Travail, CAF, CPAM, etc.) or to specialized care services, often located in large cities, whose access to certain types of vehicles is becoming restricted in connection with the establishment of EPZs-m.
Agilauto Partage will be located in 8 of the 16 municipalities of the CCRM (Villeherviers, Villefranche-sur-Cher, Mennetou-sur-Cher, Courmemin, Gièvres, Saint-Loup-sur-Cher, Saint-Julien-sur-Cher, Romorantin-Lanthenay – station and parking Jean Monnet – ), with 10 vehicles manufactured in France and 100% electric: 4 city cars, 3 vans and 3 vans with 9 seats including one equipped with PRM.
Agilauto Partage: an approach firmly anchored in the territories, sustainable and supportive
Developed in partnership with the Communauté de Communes du Romorantinais et du Monestois, this initiative echoes Crédit Agricole’s raison d’être of “acting every day in the interest of customers and society” and is based on the Group’s values of solidarity and proximity, serving as many people as possible.
By supporting it, Crédit Agricole Val de France actively contributes to the economic and social development in the heart of its territory, in line with the commitments of its business project, and acts in favor of the inhabitants of rural areas. In order to support the launch of the service, Crédit Agricole Val de France customers will benefit from advantageous rates.
A complete mobile application to manage your reservations and use the service
Thanks to a connected application, similar to those used by urban car-sharing solutions in the main European metropolises, booking and access to vehicles is simplified.
Users will be able to store their information securely in this application (driving license, credit card, etc.). Once their profile has been validated, they will have the opportunity to book a vehicle, as well as open and start it directly from their smartphone.
The service will be charged according to the rental period (per minute, per hour, per half day or per day). The lease will include the insurance of the vehicle, taken out with Pacifica, a non-life insurance subsidiary of Crédit Agricole Assurances.
Offering our inhabitants modern mobility solutions that are accessible and respectful of our environment is a priority for our Community of Municipalities. In a rural area like ours, where travel is essential on a daily basis, it is important to innovate to support the ecological transition without restricting usage. The arrival of electric car sharing is fully in line with this dynamic. It is a concrete response, adapted to our local needs, and a further step towards more sustainable mobility. We believe in these new practices, serving everyone, and we will continue to actively support these types of initiatives.
This project embodies the circular economy applied to mobility. It offers a concrete alternative to individual vehicle ownership and addresses a dual challenge: reducing our carbon footprint and giving people more autonomy. It is an accessible, flexible tool adapted to the rural reality.
This initiative is part of our mutual commitment to be inclusive and useful in the daily lives of the inhabitants of the territory. It demonstrates Crédit Agricole’s desire to contribute, alongside local elected officials, to the attractiveness of the region, including the smallest rural municipalities. Carsharing is also one of the actions we are taking to accelerate decarbonization.
After Fayence, we are very proud of the deployment of Agilauto Partage in the Community of Communes of Romorantinais and Monestois, which brings a concrete solution to the challenges of mobility in the heart of rural territories, with an inclusive model. We will continue to develop this model extensively in the coming years with the Crédit Agricole Regional Banks serving as many people as possible.
