The Vienne and Gartempe Community of Municipalities Welcomes Agilauto Partage
The Vienne and Gartempe Community of Municipalities (CCVG), the Vienne Prefecture, the Vienne Department, Agilauto Partage, and Crédit Agricole Touraine Poitou announce the rollout of a 100% electric rural car-sharing service in the municipalities of Montmorillon, Lussac-les-Châteaux, L’Isle-Jourdain, La Trimouille, and Saint-Savin. This initiative, based on Agilauto Partage—the Crédit Agricole Group’s rural car-sharing service—aims to address mobility challenges in this rural area.
Car-sharing represents a flexible and accessible mobility alternative in areas with limited public transport, where private vehicles are often essential on a daily basis. This is particularly true for accessing employment, training, healthcare, and essential services, which are often located in nearby larger towns.
Following three successful initial deployments in the Pays de Fayence Community of Municipalities (Var), the Pays du Lunévillois (Meurthe-et-Moselle), and the Romorantinais and Monestois Community of Municipalities (Loir-et-Cher), with nearly 5,000 registered users, Agilauto Partage continues to expand across France. The launch of the service in the Vienne and Gartempe Community confirms Crédit Agricole’s commitment to facilitating everyday mobility in the areas where it operates and to supporting transitions by offering fully electric vehicles.
The availability of the Agilauto Partage service will allow residents of the community—whether employed or unemployed, seniors or young drivers (minimum age 17 with at least six months of driving license experience)—as well as tourists, to easily access a fleet of seven electric vehicles (five city cars and two six-seat utility vehicles) at competitive rates. Vehicles can be rented by the hour, half-day, or full day to meet a wide range of mobility needs: job interviews, medical appointments, administrative tasks, family or social outings, temporary replacement of a broken-down vehicle, etc.
Agilauto Partage is available in five municipalities of the Vienne and Gartempe Community—Montmorillon, Lussac-les-Châteaux, L’Isle-Jourdain, La Trimouille, and Saint-Savin—and offers five Citroën e-C3 vehicles and two six-seat utility vehicles for car-sharing from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., seven days a week.
Thanks to the Agilauto Partage app, developed along the lines of car-sharing solutions used in major European cities, booking and accessing vehicles is possible via any smartphone. To register, users securely upload their information in the app (driver’s license, credit card, etc.). Once their profile is validated, they can book, unlock, and lock vehicles directly through the app. The service is billed based on rental duration (from €9 per hour to €45 per day).
Pricing follows a low-cost mobility approach, allowing as many people as possible to benefit from electric car-sharing, with unlimited mileage, charging, insurance, and maintenance included.
In 2024, the Vienne Prefecture and the Vienne Department signed a unified departmental agreement titled “Solidarity and Employment Integration.” This agreement includes both a “solidarity” component and an “employment integration” component to better address the links between precariousness and access to employment.
Despite the Vienne Department’s many strengths, it faces difficulties in employment access for approximately 30,000 job seekers registered with France Travail and 12,000 recipients of RSA (minimum income support). Mobility is the primary barrier to employment. This issue is complex, involving geographic, economic, social, and infrastructure challenges. In rural areas in particular, limited mobility or difficulties in getting around effectively constitute a major obstacle to sustainable employment.
In response to this observation—and also to recruitment challenges faced by local businesses, artisans, and retailers—the President of the Departmental Council, the Prefect of Vienne, and the heads of intermunicipal bodies decided to experiment with an innovative initiative aimed at residents, especially the most vulnerable: the “Solidarity Electric Mobility” project.
Launched on September 19, 2025, this initiative in southern Vienne is now being implemented through a solution designed in partnership with Agilauto Partage and Crédit Agricole Touraine Poitou to support job seekers throughout their return-to-work journey. It is based on a simple principle: providing gradual and tailored mobility support, from the first steps of job searching to stable employment.
Job seekers will benefit from a solidarity pricing scheme for job interviews, training, or institutional appointments, corresponding to an 80% discount on Agilauto Partage vehicle rental costs. Additional mobility solutions will also be offered as they progress toward long-term employment.
This mobility service is based on a public-private partnership involving the Vienne Prefecture, the Vienne Department, Sorégies Mobilité for charging infrastructure, the Vienne and Gartempe Community of Municipalities, Crédit Agricole Touraine Poitou, Agilauto Partage, as well as employment integration stakeholders (France Travail, local missions, France Services centers, etc.), with national support from Citroën and EDF.
It aims to actively contribute to the economic and social development of the area while providing a useful service to residents of this rural region—particularly those without a vehicle or those seeking to reduce transport costs in the context of rising fuel prices.
A locally recruited service coordinator—responsible for managing the fleet (in partnership with local garages), overseeing operations, and supporting users on a daily basis (app registration, booking assistance, familiarization with electric vehicles)—has been hired with the support of the Crédit Agricole Touraine Poitou regional bank.
In addition, Crédit Agricole branches across the area and their teams act as active local relays: they inform their customers and guide job seekers toward the program. They also facilitate connections between social actors, local institutions, and Agilauto Partage. As the leading bank in the region, serving nearly one in two residents, Crédit Agricole Touraine Poitou leverages this unique network as a practical tool to promote mobility for all.
